Are you prepared for...The Lindy Games!!?

Here you'll find descriptions of the Individual and Team Games, and a special DJ event. Plan for some fun and be sure not to miss this unique and goofy event!

Speed Jig Walk Lead/Follow pairs will jig walk down a long track. The first pair to the finish line wins. Dancing is mandatory; runners will be disqualified. compete in pairs
Clownin' Around w/ Jack & Jill Lead/Follow pairs are challenged to dance wearing too-big shoes. Judges will determine the winners based on style, physical ability, and audience glee. compete in pairs
Lindy Clothing Exchange Lead/Follow pairs are challenged to exchange clothing within a time limit while dancing. (No full nudity... this event IS outdoors on city property, after all...). Judges will determine the winners based on amount of clothing fully removed and donned, style, and audience glee. compete in pairs

Team Events.
Saturday afternoon, at Municipal Pier.

Put together a team from your town/state/studio/wherever and show some team spirit! Wear identifying team clothing, create a unique dance move or cheer, generally amp up the ridiculous premise of having Lindy Games in the first place.

Flag Lindy Teams will dance, one follow carrying a flag on her waist. The goal is to get to the flag to the other side of the field. Flag may be stolen by other follows, who then must tuck it into their waistband. Leads are given the task of protecting their follows, and directing them towards the flag or the goal. Dancing must be continuous. Runners will be given penalties. 5 pairs per team. Two teams per game. Teams can be from cities or assembled on the spot.
Cross discipline syncronized Lindy A showcase event! If you have a special talent, do it at the same time you Lindy! Teams will be judged on originality, style, ability to actually dance while doing something else, and audience glee. (For example, SF's Dave Wong will be demonstrating hula hoop lindy).

Preassembled teams of any size.

Practice up a routine before you come to SF! Or just make one up if you find a kindred spirit!

Lindy Relay A relay version of Speed Jig Walk. Lead/Follow pairs will race down a track and hand off a baton to the next pair at the relay station who will then continue to the next pair. The first team to cross the finish line wins. Dancing is mandatory for each leg; runners will be disqualified. 4 pairs per team. Teams can be from cities or assembled on the spot.
Swing Soccer Teams will dance, while trying to get a soccer ball through the goal. There will be a time limit on the game. Leads are given the task of protecting their follows, and directing them towards the ball or the goal. Dancing must be continuous. Runners and solo dancers will be given penalties. 5 pairs per team. Two teams per game. Teams can be from cities or assembled on the spot.
Ultimate Lindy We're not at all sure how (if!) this will work... but we're willing to try. This is Lindy with a frisbee. Event will happen on the beach. Up to 10 pairs per team. Two teams per game. Teams can be from cities or assembled on the spot.

Special event for DJs!
9-9:45 pm Saturday evening, Regency Ballroom.

Come out and see your favorite DJs and other music geek friends test their knowledge and demonstrate why we love them so much!

Hey DJ! Name that tune. Just like the TV gameshow from the 70s... DJs (and other music afficianados) will challenge each other to guess the song name and artist in the fewest number of notes. Will it all be swing music? Probably.... Individual competitors

Municipal Pier (a.k.a. Muni Pier) is between Fisherman's Wharf and Fort Mason, it's the Aquatic park that makes the curl in the center of this map
