Live Music

We have a great lineup of bands planned for SFLX'08!

Friday Night

Barbara Morrison

The dazzling Barbara Morrison has been featured on over 20 recordings. She has dazzled fans of a wide aray of genres from traditional Jazz and Blues to Gospel and Pop. Her melodic voice, with its two-and-a-half-octave range, is known worldwide, as are her rich, unique, soulful and highly spirited interpretations of both, familiar Jazz and Blues classics and original contemporary tunes. Equally as striking is Ms. Morrison's ability to belt out down-home, soul-stirring Blues. Her impassioned renditions of old and favorite torch songs are nothing short of breathtaking.

Saturday Night

The Fil Lorenz Orchestra with special guest Connie Champagne

The Fil Lorenz Orchestra is rooted in both the swinging blues style of Count Basie and Woody Herman, and the hard-driving energy, attitude and screaming brass of the Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich bands. Drawing a line from yesterday's sounds to today's modern styles, the FLO features many original compositions, as well as interpretations of jazz and swing classics by Duke Ellington, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, and Neal Hefti.

Saturday Late Night

The Dave Workman Band with special guest John Broadway Tucker

Dave Workman honed his craft, and built his reputation in the midwest, opening for established legends like: B.B.King, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, and James Cotton. He learned his lessons well enough to be asked to back up blues icons like Albert King, Chuck Berry, Junior Wells, and Robert Jr. Lockwood.

Sunday Night

Jelly Roll Souls

This new addition to the San Francisco Swing Scene has been a shocking discovery of a fantastic, swinging band with great musicianship and a range from blues to swing. You won't be disappointed!
