Music

We have a great lineup of bands and DJs planned for SFLX'08!

We'll be posting our full band schedule very soon!

Friday Night

Barbara Morrison

Barbara Morrison is the queen of Swing Music, and a regular at SFLX.

The dazzling Barbara Morrison has been featured on over 20 recordings. She has dazzled fans of a wide aray of genres from traditional Jazz and Blues to Gospel and Pop. Her melodic voice, with its two-and-a-half-octave range, is known worldwide, as are her rich, unique, soulful and highly spirited interpretations of both, familiar Jazz and Blues classics and original contemporary tunes. Equally as striking is Ms. Morrison's ability to belt out down-home, soul-stirring Blues. Her impassioned renditions of old and favorite torch songs are nothing short of breathtaking.

Saturday Night

Fil Lorenz Orchestra with special guest Connie Champagne

Baritone saxophonist and arranger, Fil Lorenz founded the Collective West Jazz Orchestra in 1998.

The Collective West Jazz Orchestra is rooted in both the swinging blues style of Count Basie and Woody Herman, and the hard-driving energy, attitude and screaming brass of the Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich bands (with a healthy dose of hard bop mixed in). Drawing a line from yesterday's sounds to today's modern styles, the CWJO features many original compositions, as well as interpretations of jazz classics by Thelonious Monk, Charles Mingus, McCoy Tyner, and many others.

Sunday Night

Jelly Roll Souls

This new addition to the San Francisco Swing Scene has been a shocking discovery of a fantastic, swinging band with great musicianship and a range from blues to swing. You won't be disappointed!
